While Stationed  at Dong Ba Thin, Republic of Vietnam
Wall Eulogy

Today there are no strangers here among us.

We are kindred spirits and Vietnam is the link that binds us.

But how do you reveal, through the ink of a pen, the pain endured.

Pain from the loss of friends and family members.

Feelings compounded by never knowing if they are dead or alive.

And you find yourself searching the crowds for their face.

Today the search is over.

And for us to begin a new chapter.

And somehow I feel that the crew is looking upon us

today as we remember the sacrifice that they made,

And we shall never forget.....

And your death was not in vain.

Vietnam was a senseless war, but there was nothing senseless about the acts of bravery

that went on everyday without a moment's hesitation,

Feats that never reached the Top Brass or the front page of the newspaper.

Because of their efforts many made it back, and are here on this earth.

And I know I speak for all when I say Thank You.

And Welcome Home.
